1st Innovation Bootcamp crowned with success

HR

Gaming1 began the year by launching its first Innovation Bootcamp within the framework of the group’s five key values: team spirit, audacity, performance, integrity and pleasure. The goal? To invite all employees to enhance the company through their own ideas.

For this first edition of Innovation Bootcamp, eleven teams elaborated innovative concepts or projects aiming to improve an existing programme, both at headquarter level and in relation to casinos, gaming rooms or websites. In teams of 3 to 7 people from at least three different departments, Gaming1 employees demonstrated great imagination in this competition to develop a project that could be implemented within three weeks across all departments.

At the end of February, these projects of potential added-value for the company were presented at the Grand Casino of Namur in front of a public of in-house Gaming1 employees. Each team had five minutes to explain the details of their concept with the help of a visual aid.

In terms of votes, team AVENGERS was acclaimed for its project of interactive sports betting tournaments in which friends can be invited to join online. And team FYOUJEUNE won the public’s award for its idea of “lunch & learn” between colleagues during the lunchbreak.

A first edition bursting with promise

“It was a real pleasure to share this first experience and discover all these ideas that were prepared, presented and defended with such enthusiasm and motivation”, declared a delighted Leeroy Dominé, the co-organiser of the event. “One of the main feedbacks we received, both from the jury and the audience, was how hard it was to decide who to vote for as there were so many different interesting projects.”

The unsuccessful teams do not walk away empty handed. Although they did not receive an award from the public or the jury, they still impressed the group’s management with their innovative ideas. “Most of the ideas are of considerable interest to Gaming1. Even if they are not implemented immediately within the three-week period intended by Innovation Bootcamp, the majority still merit being integrated in an existing project or becoming an independent project.”

Delighted by this experience, the organisers of Innovation Bootcamp are “ultra-motivated to repeat this type of event”. This first edition should therefore be followed by a version 2.0.
